Are you confused by conflicting studies about supplements? Do you go round in circles and either end up not buying anything or buying the wrong thing?
I know the feeling… It can be a total minefield that leaves us with more questions than answers…
Let’s start at the beginning. Do we really need vitamins?
In an ideal world, we would get all our vitamins and minerals from our fresh, whole food diet. A diet a long way from processed and packaged foods, but we all know that’s not totally achievable. Life is busy and sometimes we do reach for the easy options. Take one look at the supermarkets nearly 90% of their products are ‘easy options’ and that is where most of us buy our groceries.
Even if we were 100% perfect with our diet 100% of the time we still would not receive everything our bodies need to function properly. There are many reasons for this, including our depleted soils, the transportation and storage of our food, and the increased stress and nutritional demands which result from our toxic environment.
There are lots of articles explaining why we need to take good quality supplements, but what constitutes as a good quality supplement? Some of the standard products are full of fillers and binders which are also not great for our health. We do know that our we are all individual and our body will require different levels of support through our health and healing journey.
